AVERAGEA Function in Excel

The AVERAGEA function in Excel returns the arithmetic mean of a list of supplied numbers.

Syntax of AVERAGEA Function in Excel

AVERAGEA (number1, [number2], …)

Where the number arguments are a set of one or more numeric values, or arrays of numeric values, for which you want to calculate the average.

  • Average Value is calculated either by passing values or reference to the average function as shown above.
  • Logical values are counted in AVERAGEA Function , TRUE will be counted as 1 and FALSE will be counted as 0
  • Text, within arrays or reference arguments are counted as 0 in AVERGEA Function
  • Empty cells are ignored
